Najib fails to announce the RCI upon pressure from Sabah UMNO

KOTA KINABALU: The much-anticipated announcement on the Federal Cabinet agreement to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) to investigate the large presence of illegal foreigners in Sabah and the rampant issuance of Malaysian documents to them, failed to take place in Lahad Datu where visiting Prime Minister Najib Razak was expected to announce Friday.

Instead Najib cancelled his scheduled press conference after a function in Kampung Nala in Tungku near Lahad Datu and went straight to Tawau where his government executive jet is waiting to fly him out to Kuala Lumpur.

KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who begins a two-day visit to Sabah tomorrow, has been slapped with a litany of questions involving his government’s extravagant spending and financial scandals rocking the country.

Challenging Najib to clarify the allegations and speculations of squandered billions and to ‘save’ himself at the ballot box, State Reform Party (Star) Sabah deputy chairman Daniel Jambun said Najib must clear the perceptions that Umno has “no clear conscious” and prove that he is committed to stopping the rot on Sabah coffers.

KENINGAU : Keningau UMNO leader Azman Ruslan's accusation (published in Borneo Post days ago) that State Reform Party (STAR) is playing a blame-game in safeguarding state rights is unbecoming of a Sabahan leader, if one is dignified enough to be called one, said State Reform Party (STAR) dputy chairman for its Sabah chepter, Dr Nicholas James Guntobon.

Dr Guntobon said STAR stands for Sabah state rights and its leaders are proud to admit it. "We don't know what Sabah UMNO stands for as its actions have brought in numerous problems to Sabahans that also has affected the Interior which Azman refused to admit for reasons best known to many," he said in a statement issued here.

Pairin and PBS going against the wishes of Sabahans, says close friend

PENAMPANG : A local veteran activist who was active with the now-defunct UNKO, Fredoline Edwin Lojingki, said he has had enough of increasingly UMNO-leaning Joseph Pairin Kitingan and PBS lately, now lost confidence in Pairin to continue leading, especially the natives.

Lojingki, 71, who claimed to be a close friend of Pairin and many in PBS at one time, alleged that PBS has deviated from its original struggle to safeguard the state and the people especially the Kadazandusun community.
