STAR the Best for Sabah’s Rights

Dr. Felix Chong
“STAR Sabah is a clear-cut choice to champion the cause of Sabah’s rights and interests. Peninsular parties cannot go all out to champion Sabah’s rights and interests” responded Dr. Felix Chong of STAR Sabah.

“After going through the party’s causes and aspirations for Sabah, I took up the challenge and joined STAR Sabah to continue my political struggle for Sabah’s rights and interests. I fully support the Borneo Agenda and the restoration of the rights and autonomy for Sabah” added Dr. Felix.

SUARAM on Ops Scorpene

Since the last Ops Scorpene fundraising events held in Kuala Lumpur and London the second half of last year, SUARAM has received numerous messages, queries and questions on the progress of the Scorpene case that we have filed at the French courts.

We extend our apologies for the silence and wanted very much to come back to you much sooner with news on progress of the case, but unfortunately could not, as the courts in France were taking much longer than expected to decide on matters.

Intrigue within Sabah Umno

By Luke Rintod of FMT
KOTA KINABALU: Politics in Sabah is never boring and it is again taking on the air of a soap opera complete with prima donnas, villains, scoundrels and clowns waiting in the wings before going centre stage in the second biggest state in Malaysia.

Come Feb 16, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak will be in Sabah again for specific programmes in Sipitang, Tawau, and of course in the state capital where he will get the chance to meet all Barisan Nasional leaders.

Borneo Herald brings a story of Jinu Losukin, 39, a homeless Ranau Dusun in Kuala Lumpur

Jinu bin Losukin @Raju Homeless, odd-jobs worker, 39, Kuala Lumpur

In our February State of the Vision Issue, we asked the man on the street, from all walks of life, what they feel about the state of our country. Renowned journalist and documentarian Danny Lim travelled across Malaysia to speak to friends, strangers and demographics we would normally never sit and have a chat with. We present two extremes from this piece: Raju, a homeless man living in KL, and Dr Vincent Chian, an educator who is working to improve schools in Malaysia.

Star Amused At Bn Rahman's Asking Anwar To Give Assurance

By Dr Nicholas James Guntobon
KENINGAU: The statement by BN MP for Kota Belud, Rahman Dahlan, asking for an assurance by opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim that Sabah would not get less than it gets under a BN Federal government is alike to BN already conceding defeat in the coming general election.

I wonder if Rahman's statement which came out in Borneo Post today is reflective of CM Musa Aman's stand or even the Sabah BN of which Rahman is its secretary.

The Murder That's About to Change the World

By Robert Washington

Nobody could have known that the dinner they were about to eat would one day change history. Some say it was goat. Others say it was lamb. Either way, it was poisoned.

And the guest of honor was Mohammed, founder of Islam.

It was just one bite, that's all it took. He tasted the poison and immediately spat it out. But it was too late. He would soon die as a result, sparking a bitter and deadly divide.

Jeffrey’s party pulling in the crowds

Star is engaging people across Sabah
with a promise that "change has come".
KENINGAU: The Sabah chapter of the State Reform Party (Star) has been attracting thousands to its ceramahs (talks) in an indication that state Barisan Nasional (BN) parties are losing supporters.

The most recent well-attended talk was at the joint-launching of the Keningau, Tenom and Pensiangan branches here on Saturday where more than 2,000 turned up to cheer party leader Jeffrey Kitingan.

Kitingan, who ditched PKR a year ago and was party-less until last month when he brought Star from Sarawak, has managed to attract leaders from other political parties to his party.

New movement demands 70% oil royalty for Sabah and Sarawak

By Ezra Haganez
KOTA KINABALU: A new citizen movement has demanded that oil royalty for Sabah should be at least 70 percent and not below to compensate the losses Sabahans incurred under a mere 5% royalty all these years.

Oil for Future Movement (OFF) chairman, Phillip Among, said on top of that oil royalty for Sabah must be backdated to 1976 and a statutory 8 percent interest per annum should be paid.
