Sept 16 is a black day for Sabah

We might as well regard Sept 16 as a ‘Sad Day’ to remember
when we ended freedom and independence to be taken over
and re-colonized by Malaya.

Celebrating Malaysia Day on Sept 16 would be meaningless, hollow and empty unless the special rights and autonomy of Sabah and Sarawak as agreed, promised and assured by the Founding Fathers of Malaysia are fulfilled.

The Founding Fathers of Malaysia from the Borneo states took great risks to agree and to be pushed and rushed into the merger with Malaya and Singapore to the extent of denying themselves (the Borneo States) the opportunity to attain political maturity first and to enjoy the freedom and practice of self-rule as what is now enjoyed by Brunei.

Aug 31 or Sept 16? The people of Sabah and
Sarawak want Aug 31 to be addressed as the
independence day of Malaya, not Malaysia.

Is Aug 31 the independence day of Malaysia or Malaya? Referring to the former, which is what we have for so long been doing, has caused a lot of unhappiness among the people of East Malaysia, that is, Sabah and Sarawak.

As of 2010, the population of the two states stood at six million (3.5 million in Sabah and 2.5 million in Sarawak), representing roughly 20% of the population of Malaysia.

Historically, the term “Malaysia” came into being on Sept 16, 1963. Prior to that, this country was called “Malaya” which in the Philippine national language of Tagalog also means “free” or “freedom”.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno leaders are scrambling to kill off any debate on a proposal to limit the terms of a prime minister or chief ministers to two consecutive stints in the top post.

The proposal by United Borneo Front (UBF) chairman Jeffrey Kitingan last week has set off a rash of criticism from leaders and members in Umno, who currently enjoys a stranglehold on the prime minister’s post as well as the top positions in states under Barisan Nasional (BN) control.

Anak tikam ibu dan bapa hingga mati

Sepasang suami isteri mati ditikam oleh anak lelaki mereka di sebuah rumah di Batu 1, Jalan Utara dekat Sandakan, malam semalam.

Sarawak opposition believes that Taib Mahmud must clear his
name in view of the latest German investigation into his
family-linked business dealings.

KUCHING: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) must release immediately details of its investigation into Chief Minister Taib Mahmud’s alleged abuse of power and corruption.


The call comes on the heels of reports that the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) has launched investigations into Deutsche Bank on account of its business relations with Taib’s family.

Maklumat dakwaan rasuah Gani Patail akan disiasat SPRM

PUTRAJAYA: Maklumat berhubung dakwaan mengaitkan Peguam Negara Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail yang disogok bekas Timbalan Pengerusi Eksekutif Ho Hup Bhd,Datuk Vincent Lye, akan disiasat oleh Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM).

Namun menurut Menteri diJabatan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Nazri Aziz di bawah Seksyen 29(4) Akta SPRM, maklumat mengenai hal itu tidak perlu didedahkan kepada umum.

‘Bukti dipalsukan pada bicara kes rasuah Anwar’

Hukuman kerana salah guna kuasa ke atas Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim pada 1999 adalah silap kerana pihak pendakwaan telah memalsukan bukti dan membuat penipuan melalui tindakan pegawai penyiasat ketika itu, Tan Sri Musa Hassan dan pendakwa raya ketika itu Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail.

Dakwaan itu dibuat melalui sepucuk surat terbuka, baru yang dihantar kepada Ketua Polis Negara Tan Sri Ismail Omar, hari ini, oleh bekas Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Kuala Lumpur Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim.
