Despite the pleas from the various strata of society in Sabah, the Government had proceeded with the restructuring of the electricity tariff in Sabah.

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui announced that the tariff restructuring is necessary to reduce the widening gap between the cost of electricity supply and tariff. The decision and the announcement made had disregarded the recent pleas by the people in Sabah not to increase the electricity tariff.


Last letter from death row

Sabahan Yong Vui Kong, 21, is on death row in Singapore for drug trafficking. Malaysiakini is publishing Yong's final letters to Yetian, a member of the Save Vui Kong Campaign, as he faces death.

Mat Sabu: Polis dah macam gangster

SHAH ALAM: Timbalan Presiden PAS Mohamad Sabu menyifatkan tindakan polis sebagai ‘gangster’ ketika perhimpunan Bersih 2.0, Sabtu lalu.

Menceritakan detik cemas itu, beliau yang lebih dikenali sebagai Mat Sabu berkata motosikal yang dinaikinya dirempuh Land Rover polis sehingga menyebabkan beliau tergolek di jalanan.

Beliau yang cedera kemudian dibawa oleh pegawai polis ke Balai Polis Jinjang dan dirujuk ke hospital untuk membuat pemeriksaan lanjut.

Barisan Nasional’s War of Intimidation has backfired. Malaysians no longer fear the sight of armed security forces, the threat of racial riots and or the Communist bogey. Pictures of the peaceful determination and resolve of the Bersih demonstrators say it all. Objective Malaysians (the silent majority) cannot but be impressed with the maturity and faith of those who were willing to face arrest and police intimidation to uphold their principles.

KL police: No tear gas fired into hospital

However there are numerous eyewitness accounts, photographic
and video evidence to show that the police had infact
fired tear gas into Tung Shin Hospital.
KUALA LUMPUR:  The city police have rejected accusations that its personnel had fired tear gas into the compound of the Tung Shin Hospital on Jalan Pudu during the Bersih rally yesterday.

City acting police chief Amar Singh was adamant that his men did not target the private hospital.

PBS ‘hires’ YB Gobala to gun down PKR

KOTA BELUD: Umno’s strongest ally in Sabah, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has found a new recruit in former PKR senior leader N Gobalakrishnan.

The Padang Serai MP from Kedah was a surprise “guest of honour” at the Kadamaian PBS annual general meeting (AGM) here last week where he was “specially” invited to enlighten PBS delegates and members on Anwar Ibrahim and PKR.
