‘Meek’ Kadazandusun leaders, wasted opportunities

When it comes to the crunch, Sabah politicians who for decades have been clamouring for clean elections and for the electoral rolls to be purged of dubious voters, are found wanting in the wake of Bersih 2.0′s call for reforms.
Outspoken figures like Jeffrey Kitingan, Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Bernard Giluk Dompok,
Yong Teck Lee, Joseph Kurup, Madius Tangau and even Wilfred Mojilip Bumburing, to name
a few, were once synonymous with untiring calls to clear the state electoral rolls of phantom voters.
But no more. Today, save for Yong, all are mere spectators.

Sabah police in surprise raid on SAPP HQ

Why is the Barisan Nasional government so
paranoid of the word Bersih and yellow
colour? asks a party leader.

KOTA KINABALU: The word ‘Bersih’ (clean) will need some cleaning up after police found it inappropriate to be used on a signboard here.

Rally participants not creating havoc, it’s the police

The federal government was wrong to backtrack
on its promise to allow Bersih 2.0 to hold its
rally in an indoor stadium, says Sabah
politician Jeffrey Kitingan.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah NGO, United Borneo Front (UBF), has urged the federal government to allow the Bersih 2.0 rally organisers to hold the event in a stadium and not make it difficult for the people to access the venue.

Its president, Jeffrey Kitingan, said that by creating unnecessary road blocks, the police would be the ones creating traffic havoc, and not the rally participants.

The reasons behind Pakatan Rakyat Government's downfall in Perak

By Raja Petra Kamarudin

All of us know what happened in Perak. However what many do not know is why it happened.

If you can remember, it took one week for the Perak and Selangor State Governments to be sworn in after the March 2008 General Election. The Sultans of these two states wanted to first ‘discuss the matter’ with members of the Pakatan Rakyat State Assembly. The Sultans then set certain terms and conditions before agreeing to swear in the new Pakatan Rakyat State Governments.

The election watchdog urges Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak
to end the clampdown and allow the people to exercise their
constitutional right.
PETALING JAYA: Bersih 2.0 will proceed with its walk to Stadium Merdeka tomorrow – and will even ignore the police order banning certain individuals from entering Kuala Lumpur.

Yesterday, the police released a list of the names of the 91 individuals who are barred from entering the capital.

Rakyat should now stand up for their Constitutional Monarch too

When DYMM SPB YDP Agung had granted an audience for the leadership team representing Bersih 2.0, certain quarters had the audacity to even question the Constitutional Monarch's wisdom in granting Bersih 2.0 an audience. And there is not even a whisper of disapproval from the UMNO supremacists’ leaders on such an insulting and seditious remark.

By J. D. Lovrenciear

It is unbelievable how brazenly the UMNO house politicians are twisting and turning the situation each passing hour to further rile the rakyat and certainly pushing the Bersih 2.0 supporters into a tight corner.
