KOTA KINABALU : It is by now confirmed that former Sabah Chief Minister, Tan Sri Musa Aman, will be appointed the new Sabah's Yang di-Pertua Negeri at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow morning.

It is understood Musa, 73, will receive his appointment from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in a ceremony at the Istana Negara before the Agong confers him the highest state medal of Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara (S.M.N.) which carries the title "Tun".

The Sabah State Government has been very tightlipped about who it recommends for the ceremonial post. Even the itinerary for tomorrow's ceremony still doesn't carry a name of the new Governor.
However, preparations to receive the new governor are being undertaken quietly in Kota Kinabalu, and according to communications sighted by Borneo Herald, Musa was named and scheduled to arrive at the VVIP Lounge of KKIA at 11.30am this Wednesday.

Musa, born on 30 March, 1951 in Beaufort was the longest serving chief minister of Sabah from 2003 till 2018. He would replace the current governor Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, who is the longest serving TYT since 2011.

Juhar's tenure will end this December 31, 2024.

Musa was Sabah Umno head for a long time and he had also held various government posts including director of Yayasan Sabah and Minister of Finance among others during his days as politician.

He comes from a family with illustrious siblings, among others, his elder brother Datuk Ayub Aman was Sports and Youth Minister during BERJAYA time, his younger brother Tan Sri Anifah Aman was Malaysia's Foreign Minister while their sister Datuk Nurcahaya Arshad is a High Court senior judge.

Musa is married to Puan Sri Faridah Tussin and they have four children, Yamani Hafez, Lenny Natasha, Mohammed Hassyam (who died in 2021) and Hazem.#
