KOTA KINABALU : The State Reform Party (STAR) may contest in all 60 state assembly seats and 25 MP seats in Sabah, said its Sabah chapter chairman, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, here today.
He said this after a briefing by the State Election Commission on new election rules to STAR and protem USNO leaders at the EC's office at the Federal Secretariat in Likas.
Dr Jeffrey also said after the meeting that by contesting in all seats, it will be a referendum to seek views of Sabahans whether they continued to want to be "colonised" and "hegemonised" by outsiders or they want to take charge of their own fate and determine the future of Sabah and its people.
"Let this be a referendum..." he said adding that insinuations of STAR could not contest in Sabah should not arise anymore with the meeting with EC today and the fact that the Sarawak-based party had in the past put up a candidate in Marudu, Sabah.
Dr Jeffrey, who is also chairman of the United Borneo Alliance (UBA) that already groups STAR and USNO, also said that while STAR respects co-operation with any political parties, it will not sell its soul or compromise its Borneo Agenda.
"Personal agenda is not our agenda. Our agenda is Borneo Agenda," he said referring to the seven-point Borneo Agenda that is now considered by the general public to contain the major concerns of bona fide Sabahans.
The USNO group in attendance had brought up several issues including on protem USNO's participation in the election and peculiar issues in the east-coast.
Abdulah Sani raised the issue of why the Senallang-based military personnels in Semporna are mostly voting in Bogaya (and not Senallang) as "early voters" or formerly known as postal voters. Idrus pledged to look into it.
Idrus in his briefing among others explained that EC has cancelled the controversial three-day "cooling period" and also the objection period which normally runs from 10am to 11am after nomination is closed for public to object to any candidacy.
He also revealed that a new lay out of positions of EC staff inside polling stations on polling day has been introduced for the first time so as to enable agents of candidates have a clearer and comfortable view of what is going on inside polling station on that day.
Others in the entourage were STAR deputy chairman, Dr Nicholas James Guntobon, secretary Guandee Kohoi, Jalumin Bayogoh, Rubbin Guribah, Edward Linggu, Melanie Annol, Hasmin Azroy Abdullah, Jalibin Paidi, Martin Tommy, Maklin Masiau, and USNO leaders Datu Arifin Datu Abdul Salam, Abdillah Timbasal and two other division heads.
So datuk jeffrey will have to leave sapp behind because yong teck lee has aleady mad deal with the devil?
ReplyDeleteWho devil ? Anwar ?Oh no.. YTL ? Dr Jefrey ?
DeleteRemember the English wisdom : "Birds of a feather, flock together ! "
Hahahahaha
I thought SAPP is with STAR and protem Usno ..
ReplyDeletehat is happening man ?
Why Yong Teck Lee went to Anwar and PKR?because DAP snubbed him ! Can you beleive Anwar givin SAPP two-third of State Seats? Believe it. Because YTL "gave" away 23 MP seats for Pakatan Rakyat to contsts! So what about STAR then YTL?? You dont care about UBS or STar or Borneo Agenda for that matter right.
ReplyDeleteThe earlier fellow is right in quoting "Birds of a feather flock together".. Nah YTL and Anwar kawan sudah... Apa lagi DAP dan STAR mau cakap...
Right now it is a confusing situation in regards to the relation of STAR & SAPP. In the first place SAPP should have a meeting with STAR,& work all out to work with STAR for the Borneo agenda:But if what Annuar has said regarding his agreement with SAPP on seats, is true then I regret to say Dtk YTLee has made a big blunder by negotiating with PKR; have you TTLee forgotten so easily that Dtk Jeffrey Kitingan has gone all out to be your witness in the case brought by Dtk Harris against you? How can we trust you when somebody spoke for you, just "yesterday," then you shoot him in the face? Please explain yourself!!!
ReplyDeleteYTL has his own trademark you know.. This man is one kind of a leader...
DeleteRight on bro.
DeleteIf YTL no personal agenda, he should resign and let YB Eric Majimbun take over as Sapp President. Only when YB Eric becomes President can Sapp say it is multi-racial and receive KDM support.
If not KDM leaders in Sapp should resign and join STAR.
STAR Sabah and USNO should consider an alliance with Sabah DAP for the town and Chinese seats and wipe out SAPP once and for all.
ReplyDeleteSabah DAP, although a KL-based party, may be a better partner than SAPP and Sabah DAP don't trust SAPP at all. Not surprising given SAPP's latest moves to ditch UBA.
INI KALI LAH!
AGreeable... DAP is very reliable in Chinese seats, not SAPP. SAPP is a desperate party to win few seats.. Unlike STAR, SAPP can only win seats if it prostitute itself with either STAR, DAP or PKR or even her old-flame UMNO ! On its own she would die. DAP distrust SAPP, but PKR of course would like to have a tryst with SAPP.. who knows they can click together for a while.. Remember PKR is dwindling in Sabah while SAPP have said we cannot trust Parti Semenanjung.. But look now what SAPP is doing. Whore !
DeleteSAPP Boleh ! Anwar Boleh !
ReplyDeleteSTAR Ini Kali Lah !
Nah lain kali lah !
STAR selamatkan Sabah.
DeleteIni Kali lah - STAR/USNO
Lain Kali lah - Umno/BN, Pkr/Sapp.
Just focus on our struggle... Doesn't matter with YTL or not. If he willing to "make friends" with Anwar and PR, that means, he actually don't know what Sabahan aspiration and not to fight for the rights for Sabah as well.
ReplyDeleteSAPP sold its soul for a few seats... ! Badukang punya politician Sabah stangah masak berjuang untuk kemerdekan Sabah
