SAPP will fight to get back Labuan

Penampang, March 9, 2012: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) President Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee said his party would fight for the return of Labuan while the surrendered of huge maritime territories known as Block L and Block M rich with oil to Brunei would haunt the present UMNO-led Barisan Nasional (BN) Government.

He said Sabah lost Labuan to the Federal Government some 28 years ago while the Block L and Block M territories off Sabah waters measuring a combined 3 million acres were given to Brunei during the last days of Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi (now Tun) tenure as Prime Minister.

"Petronas had signed agreement with Murphy Oil of America over the Block L and Block M areas during Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed tenure as Prime Minister, so the Federal Government at that time would not let Petronas signed that agreement if the territories were not within Malaysian waters," he said here.

Yong who is also former Sabah Chief Minister said the surrendering of the territories were not discussed either at the Parliament or Sabah Legislative State Assembly meeting as the area involved concerned Sabah.

He said that the people only knew about it through media reports.

Yong went on saying that Brunei Foreign Minister had denied that the surrendering of both territories have connection with reports that the neighbouring government had dropped its claim over Limbang, a territory in Sarawak.

He said surrendering territorial waters to a foreign government is not as simple and hasty as what Abdullah had done.

On the fight to get back Labuan, Yong said it is contained in SAPP eight points agenda.

It was reported in local dailies that a businessman has filed a suit against former Chief Minister Tan Sri Harris Salleh over the surrendering of Labuan to the Federal Government.

The businessman in his suit filed on Wednesday claimed that the surrendering resulted Sabah lost Labuan, which become a Federal Territory.

He further said that the handing over of Block L and Block M to Brunei would one day haunt the present government leaders as what had happened to Labuan.

  3. GOOD ON YOU YONG EVEN IF IT IS TO SCORE POINTS FOR THE ELECTION.

The fact that UMNO theft of Labuan is a sore point with most Sabahans who feel that so much of the wealth and land have been stolen by Malaya.

It sound repetitious to say Sabah is rich enough to stand on its own 2 feet.

The fact is that both Sabah and Sarawak have forced to contribute to the development of Malaya at their own expense for 48 years.

The poverty, landlessness, the lack of proper infrastructures, lack of control over our own affairs, over priced consumer goods and so many other woes we now suffer are linked directly to the fact of our being re-colonized by Malaya.

So in reality Malaya needs us for our resources and votes more than we ever need Malaya for anything.

There is no reason why we should still talk about fixing up things in Malaysia. It is just a waste of time and energy when we should all unite and start to demand our independence!

The Malaysia Agreement was nullified in 1965 on the sacking of Singapore and the Malaysia concept was effective dismantled.

So there us NOTHING to hold us back any longer!

Unite and fight for Sabah Sarawak Keluar Malaysia!

No Sabah No Sarawak Mana Ada Malaysia???!
