Facebook users condemn Bersih crackdown
and are now seeking 1 million ‘Likes’
for the page demanding the PM’s resignation

PETALING JAYA: Barely two days after the Bersih rally, more than 125,000 Facebook users have asked Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak to resign, blaming him for the harsh police action against Saturday’s demonstrators.


As this report is being prepared, 125,396 people have registered “Likes” on the Facebook page “100,000 People Request Najib Tun Razak Resignation”.

The page was set up on Saturday. No information is given about its creator.

One user, known as YW Chan wrote: “The nomination of best acting, best thick skin actor = Najib, please step down.”

Supporters are now asking for the target to be increased to a million.

Some have suggested that the message be submitted directly to the Prime Minister.
