KOTA KINABALU: Outgoing PKR Vice President, Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who has taken a two-month leave, finally broke his silence on the Batu Sapi by-election by saying it is a great chance for the voters there to tell the government of the day what they want and what they don't want..
"The by-election is an opportunity for the voters to send a message to the government what they want as something better.
According to Jeffrey, the by-election is an important venue for the voters to tell the government something because this only a by-election, therefore Sabahans should use it to send important messages.
The maverick politician who maintain a respectable clout across the state also said that if the people continue voting for the government, election after election, there will be no important message sent.
"For the voters to send message to the government they should vote for the opposition so the message will be effective, after all this is only a by- election.
"My advise for Batu Sapi is to go for the opposition that will be best able to reflect what this message means to the government.
"The voters should remember few things, one is that the government has failed to deliver by not solving outstanding Sabah problems and in particular in Batu Sapi itself.
"Even in Batu Sapi the people are still poor, the jetties are falling apart, the government only now gave them a mosque which had been a concern for a while..." he further said.
But, this, he claimed, is not enough because it is done during a by-election.
"The people should take a cue from Sibu and send a powerful message that the people no longer want to be a hostage to the government and that they can make independent decision," he added.
datuk sukung ytl ba ne kan pigi Parlimen...ehe
ReplyDeletebeing an opposition leader it is only natural for dr j to urge the voters in b sapi to vote for the opposition. the question is which opposition? because there are 2 opposition parties contesting there. if he meant pkr he is not being consistent with his ideology of getting sabah & sarawak to steer their own political destiny within malaysia without the unwanted, unnecessary interfering hand from kl. we all know pkr and umno is one and the ame thing when it comes to east malaysian matters - mouth watering desires to swallow up sabah's & sarawak's wealth!!
