LAJIM'S YOUNGER BROTHER, RAMLI IS NOW PKR HEAD FOR BEAUFORT

: Ramli Ukin, the younger brother of Federal Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, Datuk Lajim Ukin, is the new head of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in Beaufort.

Ramli, defeated veteran politician and Kuala Penyu ex-assemblyman Datuk John Ghani, in the party election held here yesterday (Saturday).

Ramli polled 341 votes while John chalked up 273 votes in the PKR landmark party election where all members are eligible to elect party officials.

Incumbent head, Lajim Yussof, did not seek re-election.

Earlier, the Beaufort Division nominated PKR stalwart Datuk Zaid Ibrahim for the sole post of PKR deputy president. 

The division nominated Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Manickavasagam s/o Sundram, Fuziah Salleh and Dr Mustaffa Kamil Ayub for the four elected posts of vice president.

It nominated Guandee Kohoi, Christina Liew, Datuk John Ghani, Datuk Kalakau Untol, Bernard Solibun, Jalumin Samin, Baru Bian, Dr Nicholas Bawin, Dominique Ng and Kottapan s/o Suppaiah for the 10 elected slots in the party supreme council.
